PAST EVENTS
SOFT OPENING: NEW LOCATION
MARCH 28-29, 2026
We can’t wait to welcome you to Poet and the Bench in our new space at 6 Miller Ave, next to Equator Coffee.
The light!! The 14ft ceilings! How the art, jewelry and objects shine! 🤩 The energy being surrounded by community gathering spaces. The buzz is palpable. We are still a work in progress. Zhuzhing, placing, shifting, adapting. The things will tell us… Come by to see the new digs!
BOOK SIGNING
MARCH 11, 2026
4-7pm
Join us with Artist Rachel Hébert: “The Book of Thanks. A Catalogue of Gratitudes.”
Rachel Hébert is known for her ability to blend the visual and the written word into profound expressions of the human experience. She spent a year painting 108 exquisite pieces of artwork and writing 52 short poems, ultimately compiled into “The Book of Thanks.” This thoughtfully crafted coffee table book and daily tool is a reminder of life’s small moments of beauty and a call to gratitude.
Bring your own book to be signed or purchase one of the best gifts for yourself and all the people in your life at Poet and/the Bench, 11 Throckmorton Ave, Mill Valley and online.
NOW AWARDS
MARCH 10, 2026
Poet and the Bench is awarded "Most Innovative Business" in Mill Valley for our support of artists and designers. It’s amazing that we have managed to do this thing and create community around the arts, and that says a lot also about Mill Valley.
We are a platform for creative place making. It’s as important for us to welcome the artists, all of whom are emerging and independent artists and designers… as it is to create an environment for community and conversation. This aspect as proprietors is incredibly rewarding, that we get back so much in the conversation and intimacy that people share.
