SHIPPING PROCESSING TIME
Handling and Processing
We want your beautiful purchase to arrive without any issues and we take care to pack your item/s by hand with special attention to protect your purchase.

Some items are in stock and ready to ship, some are made to order. Orders are processed by our very small team, packed and shipped from our Mill Valley, CA location. While we strive for timely, efficient delivery on all items, we will make every attempt to ship within 5 business days or sooner of the order being placed. Transit times are provided by the carrier and vary with package destination. Please note: transit days are an estimate only, and may vary depending on the carrier. 

We advise that you have your packages shipped to a safe and secure address.

Once an order is scheduled for shipping and leaves our hands, we will notify the customer with the tracking number for the shipment. If you don't see a confirmation email after placing your order, please check your junk/spam folder.

If you would like to have your order arrive by a specific date, please reach out so that we can do our best to accommodate you. You may do this by leaving a note at check out, or by e-mailing our team at hello@poetandthebench.com. We will keep you posted if we have trouble meeting your request. 

We are not responsible for lost packages that have been marked delivered by the carrier. We will, however, help address any damaged or delayed package issues with the carrier on your behalf. 

Packaging:

  • Original and edition artworks on paper are sent in a tube, with a protective layer of glassine
  • All framed artworks and artworks on wood and canvas are packaged in glassine, foam wrapped and with protective corners in a box
  • Some unframed prints are flat packed to prevent creases
  • Oversized works are either crated or soft-packed, and shipped via FedEx or with our art crating partner
  • Ceramic, glass, wood and metal objects are packed in a box with cushioning
  • Textiles are typically box packed
  • Jewelry is typically packed in a pouch and box and in a small shipping box, unless it is included with other items

COST CALCULATION
Shipping costs are determined by the weight and size of the items purchased, the method of shipping chosen, and the destination address.

For certain large, bulky or fragile items, there may be an additional shipping surcharge. We message this charge on the “Shipping” section of each individual product page.

DAMAGE

LOSS
We suggest you always be present for delivery. We are not liable for loss should you waive a signature requirement with the shipping carrier.

BACKORDERED ITEMS
We allow customers to backorder inventory for products that are currently out of stock, but with expected replenishment in the near future. You may purchase these products in advance using our standard checkout process, and your order will ship within the dates listed under “Estimated Ship Date.” Please be aware there is some risk that the ship date of backordered products will change. If a product does not ship within the expected ship date range quoted on your order, we will allow you the option to cancel the order.

LOCATIONS SERVED
We ship within the United States to all 50 states. The shipping methods offered during checkout will differ based on your shipping address and the weight of the items being ordered. All orders are shipped insured and with tracking information.

International
We do not currently ship worldwide via the website but it will be available very soon to select countries. However, we currently do ship to a variety of international destinations by phone order. Please call us at 415-569-4383 Tuesday-Saturday 10:30-5:00pm and Sunday 11:00-4:00pm to arrange purchase.

Poet and the Bench is not responsible for any extra taxes and fees that may apply once the package arrives in the destination country. At this time we are not able to provide exact delivery time frames for all destinations. In addition some international shipments may experience customs delays. Unfortunately, we cannot foresee additional duties charges or customs delays. We can suggest that you contact your local customs office for any additional information.

TRACK YOUR PACKAGE
To find out the location of your package, take a look at the tracking info that was emailed to you. This email will be separate from your order confirmation email. If you want to change the address or simply learn the whereabouts of your package, you can contact the carrier directly.
