- Care – To ensure a clean and even burn: after the each lighting, when the candle wax has returned to solid, trim the wick to about ¼" tall. Trim off the burned part of the wick and collect it in a tissue so you don't drop into or discolor the wax. What is Atmosphere by Poet and the Bench?
Atmosphere is our in-house apothecary line of clean fragrance, candles, room and body mists, and body care (lotion, hand soap and shower gel), designed to enhance mood, space, and everyday rituals. What does “clean fragrance” mean?
Clean fragrance refers to scents made with thoughtfully sourced, certified air- and skin-safe ingredients, without harsh or unnecessary additives.
What kind of wax are Poet and/the Bench Atmosphere candles made from?
Atmosphere candles are made with a non-toxic vegetable wax blend chosen for a clean, even burn and a refined cold (unlit) and hot (when lit) scent throw. Our wax is free from paraffin and formulated to be air-safe for everyday living.

Can the candle vessel be reused?
Absolutely. Once the candle is finished, the vessel can be cleaned and reused as a candy dish, dessert bowl, yogurt bowl, matcha bowl, or as a jewelry or trinket dish. We design our vessels to live on as part of your everyday rituals.
How do I clean and reuse my candle vessel?
After the candle has burned down, gently remove any remaining wax and wash the vessel with warm, soapy water. Once clean, it’s ready to be reused for food or display. See more tips about candle care, here.
