• Materials – Sterling Silver and a combination of green and blue sapphires
• Made by Hand – Due to the nature of sand casting, every piece will vary slightly. The shapes will be the same, but the exact patterning will vary. These are designed by dropping the gems into the moulds with molten silver, so they are cast in place. Each is made individually!

Berlin, Germany

Anna Butwell left Brooklyn for Berlin, where she makes her ultra cool punk-meets-Japanese Wabi Sabi collection of jewelry. She uses sand casting to produce each piece from start to finish, pushing the technical limitations of the medium with experimentation and innovation. Chains, gems and stampings are intriguing elements that give her jewelry recognizable texture. She loves melting metal into a liquid with an oxygen and propane torch harnessing narrative ideas into small scale metal work. She embraces the beauty that lies below the surface of what appears to blemished which is shown through the jewelry left slightly rough, celebrating the imperfections of the hand of the maker.
