Inspired by the shapes of Oaxaca and the colors of Cuyama, The Other Way, abstract painting by Danielle Hutchens. This piece came together over a year period, combining sketches the artist made on a trip, an inner-child exercise of scribbles and a composition reflective of the destinations she's traveled and lives.
Description
Danielle Hutchens takes inspiration from nature and infuses it into her toolkit of materials. Natural pigments collected from stones on hikes, the beach or in the canyon are grind up into powder pigment and combined with non toxic binders of walnut oil, water or natural acrylic medium to become her paints. These earthy pigments are archival and are often combined with oil pastels, acrylics and charcoal in her artworks.
