Linda Benenati / Art / Encaustic / It's A New Dawn

$ 49500

In It's a New Dawn, Bees play a starring role along with two female figures like Queens on a throne. With their "bee vision" – the colors of flowers help target the areas of nectar and the reason why petals are usually a different color than leaves. Bees can see ultraviolet light giving them an advantage when seeking nectar. So fun to watch!

This is a new Masked Series by Linda Benenati who creates magical environments with her encaustic painting and collage narratives, with nods to various master painter-storytellers, the 20's and 30's, and a love of anything French! And bees...

Description
Linda has ventured into wonderland for her delightful encaustic paintings. This ancient technique, dating back to the Greeks, uses heat throughout the process, from melting the beeswax mixture to fusing each layer of wax. Linda's encaustic medium consists of natural bees wax and dammar resin (crystallized tree sap). She also uniquely incorporates collage elements, which add surprise and dimension.
