$ 225.00

Stunning porcelain vase by Winterling of the Op Art period of the mid 1960's. Op Art is short for Optical Art and the illusions created by the design. This is a fab collector object we found in Bavaria to add a fresh pop of white to your decor.

Description
The Responsive Eye exhibit at MOMA in the mid '60s helped solidify Op Art's place in art history. Director William Seitz wrote about "this new, highly perceptual phase in the grammar of art." He describes the relationship as "subjective experiences, brought about by simultaneous contrast, afterimages, illusions and other optical devices are entirely real to the eye, although each observer will respond to them somewhat differently."
