A proper play on all the lassies. A Scottish scene from Linda Benenati alive with a young sweetheart, a herding border collie and a shaggy-haired Highland cow. A bigger piece for Linda, we love the richly colored rolling hills that create the backdrop. And no time like the present for some Scottish slang this multi-media encaustic painting may evoke, "Keep the heid", or "Keep calm, and carry on – everything will be ok”.
Linda has ventured into wonderland for her delightful encaustic paintings. This ancient technique, dating back to the Greeks, uses heat throughout the process, from melting the beeswax mixture to fusing each layer of wax. Linda's encaustic medium consists of natural bees wax and dammar resin (crystallized tree sap). She also uniquely incorporates collage elements, which add surprise and dimension.
