Clown dog–a pet, a clown animal. Fun, celebratory works at the intersection of contemporary art, history and pop culture.
"I was thinking about how many of us are clowns in life- especially artists. I regularly find myself doing summersaults to get a smile from people, sad clown, fated clown might be genetic or breed into me like a dog." ~ Austyn Taylor

Meet the Artist
Austyn Taylor's art practice is at it’s core a reaction to the deconstructed heaps of culture left by post modernism and a search for value and virtue. Her aim as an artist is to create works which circle around sacred values such as unconditional love, authenticity, imagination and human dignity. For 20 years her work has utilized figurative characters evolved from the closest thing to authentically sacred symbols from her culture – the graphic hand drawn aesthetics found in American animation.
