Ian Hazard Bill / Ceramics / Goblet / Grey
These one-of-a-kind wood fired ceramic goblets are divine for wine, sparkling shrubs, water or even for succulents. They celebrate both the decorative and functional.
These sculptural serving vessels are thrown on the potter's wheel and then altered as they dry. They are inspired by hollows, ponds, and tide pools carved by the slow repetitive work of water. I’m enamored with the inviting curves and sensuous forms and delight in watching the curves take shape over the slow methodical altering. The visual weight of the thick rims and handles lend a protective quality that conveys the importance of whatever they may contain.
